Description Intricate frameworks of images, sense impressions, symbols and 'naturalistic' fragments, the juxtaposition of which gave actual events and/or experiences heightened significance and power. Gallipoli achieved a strange mythic quality and both pieces politicised and gave universality to personal statement. ACT review The young theatre of New Zealand demonstrated manifestly what happens when an effort is made to reconcile several of the basic gimmicks developed by Grotowski with literary material that is incompatible with this form.
