"The set, which looks much like a grown-up's sand pit, was perfect for the action which unfolded out of newspaper and magazines, via the scissors of Nick Blake. In an unusual and creative beginning...the New Zealand actor is unwittingly drawn onto the stage and into the action which becomes, in effect, his search for dreams and aspirations amidst a desert-like location. Through the images and words of mass communication, Blake's nameless character gets caught up in his own self image and creates paper figures which each attempt to climb the flimsy paper ladder to the moon." |
