| Description |
An unearthly din of drums, gongs, tom-toms, and other celestial instruments—musical they are not,—startled most of the inhabitants of Beechworth from their breakfast tables on Saturday morning. It proceeded from a Chinese procession, consisting of two carts, in one of which were seated the performers, while the other contained the whole paraphernalia of one of the Joss Houses from the Chinese Camp on Spring Creek. |
