| Description |
Bunraku is one of the great traditional art forms of Japan, now presented in New Zealand for the first time by the famed National Bunraku Theatre of Osaka which has toured the world to rapturous response. Bunraku features half human-size puppets, each brought to life by three puppeteers. Combining the sheer beauty of the magnificently crafted and costumed puppets, the astonishing manipulation skills of the puppeteers, the haunting and delicate traditional music performed live and the timeless qualities of the stories they tell, the Bunraku puppets create a magical experience. |
