A complimentary concert to the Young Women's Christian Association was given by the Y.M.C.A. Glee Club and Literary Society in the YW.C.A.-hall, Castlereagh-street, last night. There was a large attendance, and the well-varied programme provided was much appreciated. Mr. J. J. Virgo conducted the Glee Club in several part songs, the male-voice choir singing with admirable precision and finish. Songs were contributed by Messrs. A. G. Thompson, A. V. Soul, and G. Shaw; recitations were delivered by Messrs. G. Calvert, W. E. W. Jones, and A. Cable, and there were also impromptu speeches. |
