| Description |
“An Inaugural Variety Concert was held by the Randwick Disabled Action Committee. The producer, Irina Spinadel (a student at UNSW) organised an afternoon of great entertainment. Many outstanding performers donated their time and services. Other production costs were covered by donations from local community groups and businesspeople. The programme included the UNSW Ensemble, Mexican dancers, songs by Wendy Scammell, the Gail Lee Dancers, the Australian Theatre for young people, some opera and poetry. All this was compèred by Myke Parker. These types of concerts bring the performance arts to accessible locations for disabled people.” |
