Description An entertainment, which will be of a musical nature, will be given at the Town Hall, Fremantle, on Thursday evening, the proceeds being devoted towards assisting some of the members of the Manning Opera Company, who still remain in Fremantle. The programme will consist of several selections from the Gondoliers, including the opening duet between Maroo and Guiseppo, in which Mr. Leumane will sing his original part of Maroo, successfully played by him in Melbourne. He will also sing the famous aria, "Take a pair of Sparkling Eyes." Miss Nellie Wigglesworth and Miss Prinsep will sing their respective songs from the same opera. Miss Katherine Hardy will play the mad scene, as Ophelia, from Hamlet, supported by Mrs. North, Mr. Griffiths, and Mr. Ives. Miss Hardy, it is stated, recently made a great hit in this part, playing with Mr. Walter Bentley in New Zealand. The programme will be concluded by Sullivan and Buruand's dover and musing operetta Cox and Box, which will be played by Mr. Hart, Mr. North, and Mr. Leumane.
