Cinema Fantastique - A Symphony in Images. The gothic drama of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique will be heightened by remarkable accompanying silent film footage, Symphony in Images, a montage of US and European films made between 1912 and 1929 by masters such as Fritz Lang, Rene Clair and Luis Bunuel. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Ravel's Ma Mere Loye (Mother Goose), an exquisitely orchestrated ballet, is like a stroll in an enchanted garden. |
