The Alister Spence Trio is one of Australia’s finest exponents of contemporary, cutting edge jazz and improvised music.
The trio is Alister Spence (piano, samples), Lloyd Swanton (double bass) and Toby Hall (drums).
These three extremely talented musicians have a long history of playing together, both in Australia and around the world. Originally they made up the rhythm section of the internationally acclaimed band, Clarion Fracture Zone, whose album Zones on Parade was awarded five stars by Down Beat magazine (USA) in 1995.
