Description Mike Nock, the internationally acclaimed Australia-based jazz virtuoso will bring a night of unforgettable music to one of Tokyo's hottest jazz clubs as part of Ancient Future - Australian Arts Festival Japan 2003. He will play two sets with Tokyo-based Australian bassist Belinda Moody and Japanese drummer Kazumi Ikenaga at Swing Ginza on Wednesday 17 December from 6pm.

Mike Nock is a jazz pianist who is capable of morphing from gentle melodies and funky grooves through to improvised emotional outpourings. His 2002 CD "Changing Seasons" released on the prestigious Japanese label DIW, received critical acclaim. Nock's reputation rests partly on his imposing international experience, which includes some twenty-five years working in the USA with many of the world's top jazz musicians such as Coleman Hawkins, Yusef Lateef, Dionne Warwick, and Michael Brecker, and a large catalogue of critically acclaimed, internationally released recordings.

The jazz performance will be accompanied by Australian food and wine, ensuring that the evening is a truly an Australian Jazz Experience.

Australian Jazz Experience is sponsored by the Australia International Cultural Council an initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in partnership with the Australia Council for the Arts.
