| Description |
Under glowing stars, a long strip of sand metamorphoses into a white paperbark tree, symbolic of the Stradbroke Island country from whence sprang poet Kath Walker, later known as Oodgeroo of the tribe Noonuccal.
In this setting, the stock characters of contemporary Aboriginal theatre are assembled. There's a feisty old lady, an angry young man, young women journeying from crippling self-doubt to confidence, and the inevitable enigmatic spirit figure lurking in theshadows. |
