| Description |
The Management of Her Majesty's Theatre have the honour to announce that THIS (Saturday) EVENING they will produce a new version of Goethe's Immortal poem "Faust," from the pen of Mr. Gilbert Parker. The poem has been dramatised in blank verse very closely upon the construction of the Original, while at the same time some of the characteristics of the late Charles Kean's edition have been retained. The beauty and strength of Goethe's thought have been preserved; and some scenes have been added which are never put on any but the German stage. The Management have every confidence that they are placing before the public a powerful dramatic work. |
