| The first Royal Hotel contained the first Theatre Royal. This building was destryed by fire in 1840. Wyatt, who had bought the site in 1838 sold it to John Terry Hughes who proceeded to build what was then Sydney's largest Hotel on 5 five stories with 140 rooms, a large assembly hall and a ballroo |
