Title A SCENE AT ASHTON'S CIRCUS, HANGING ROCK DIGGINGS.
Abstract/Description THE enclosed sketch (see page 41) represents Mr. Ashton, of the Royal Olympic Circus, who has favoured us with a visit, performing a most extraordinary feat of strength and horsemanship, which is entirely his own. He is shown in the character of the Roman and his Pupils. As the horses gallop round the Circus, he stands on their backs, supporting an expert little rider, Miss Irvine, and Mungo Mungo, one of his troop of aborigines, on his shoulders. As Mr, Ashton is about to leave for the Rocky River Diggings, it is to be hoped that on his return he may give the Hanging Rock another call, as it helps to dispel the monotonous feeling that prevails at this season of the year in this outlandish part of her Majesty's dominions. Oakenville Creek, Hanging Rock.
