| Abstract/Description | BECAUSE of the occasional efforts to secure recognition of an Australian-produced drama, it is frequently assumed that the local playwright has never had a chance. That certainly is a mistake. A stage that was purely Australian, even to the plays themselves, had a sturdy growth, reaching its greatest magnitude between thirty and fifty years ago, and there were some out standing financial successes. | |
