Title [Temperance Hall]
Abstract/Description The foundation stone of this building is, we understand, to be laid on the forenoon of Wednesday, the 14th instant, by Miss Denison, the daughter of his Excellency the Governor General ... The building is to be of brick, with an arched iron roof rising to a height of 30 feet, the length of the hall will be 80 feet, and its width about 30 ; and as the whole space is intended to be perfectly free from posts or centre supports, it will, when completed, be one of the best rooms in Sydney for public meetings, especially tea meetings. In the front, facing Pitt-street, are to be two good shops, about 20 feet by 12, leaving a six feet passage in the centre for the entrance into the hall.
