Playbox Theatre. Drama League Formed |
| Abstract/Description |
Two big new theatres are to be erected in Sydney; but a third, pocket-size, should prove of equal interest. A group of Sydney people interested in the theatre, particularly the modern theatre, have formed a Drama League with the object of producing modern plays. The Playbox Theatre is to be unique in every respect, and will break away from many of the conventions of present-day theatrecraft. The first bill will comprise Anatole France's own dramatisation of his famous short story "Crainquebille," and Andreyeff's satire "The Sabine Women." Dates of the performances will be announced later, but all interested in the Playbox Theatre and the Drama League are invited to attend a meeting next Friday night at 83 Station House,
Rawson-place. |
