Ban on Play. Chief Secretary's Action. "Desire Brings Welcome." |
| Abstract/Description |
The Chief Secretary (Mr. Chaffey) has prohibited the presentation in New South Wales of the play, "Desire Brings Welcome," by Mr. Kenn Brodziak. The decision was announced in a letter received from the Minister by Miss Karen Greyson, assistant stage manager for Zenith Productions, Ltd. Miss Greyson, on behalf of Mr. Brodziak, submitted the play voluntarily to the Chief Secretary's Department for censorship. On Tuesday night representatives of the Chief Secretary's Department and the Police Department attended a special rehearsal of the play at the Majestic Theatre, Newtown. |
