| Title |
The Empire Theatre |
| Abstract/Description |
The Empire Theatre, formerly the Royal Standard, after being for some time in the hands of painters and decorators, under whose care the building has been modernised and brought up to date, was opened on Saturday evening as a place of light amusement.
The theatre has been secured on a lease by Messrs John Fuller and sons, of New Zealand and it is intended, as Mr Fuller stated during an interval, to present to the public an entertainment quaint and amusing, yet entirely free from anything likely to militate against the success of a first-class music hall company. |
