Title Domestic Intelligence [The Theatre]
Abstract/Description On Tuesday night, for the Benefit of Messrs Mackie and Vale, was performed for the first time at the Sydney Theatre, the Miller's Maid. —Giles, Mr Mackie ; George, Mr Vale ; Phobe, Mrs Weston ; and Matty Marvellous, Mr Meredith, sustained their parts with very considerable credit, and the curtain fell at the close of the piece, amidst shouts of applause. Five songs followed; those by Mrs. Weston, Mrs. Love, and Mr. Dight were creditable — the others, so so. A Highland Fling was then danced by Mr. Mackie, dressed in costume, which, from its novelty and style of execution, was applauded. The afterpiece, the Devil to Pay, through some mismanagement, was a complete failure.
