Domestic Intelligence [The Theatre] |
| Abstract/Description |
The performances on Saturday evening, were the Castle Spectre and Fortune's Frolic. The former, for the first time, but with the exception of a few new dresses, the whole piece was flat and unprofitable, and appeared to give but little satisfaction. Mr. Levy should remember that people do not visit his Theatre to gaze with their mouths open at a few splendid dresses - acting, and acting alone, is what is wanted. The second piece went off well,as usual, but we should recommend Mr. Levy to commence precisely to the time on Saturday evenings, or the length of the pieces may tread on the Sabbath. |
