Theatre Royal, George Street |
Abstract/Description |
The performances on Thursday evening were "Charles the Second, or the Merry Monarch." The piece went oft well as of fore time, and we felt particularly gratified in seeing Mrs. Taylor again able to sustain the character of the Page, although evidently suffering from indisposition. The duet with Mrs. Clarke of "My pretty Page" might have been omitted. Mrs. Taylor must have sung with much pain to herself. "The Tower of Nesle concluded the evening's entertainments. Taken generally it was a fair performance. |
