LANDING in America a few weeks-ago, John Pickard, well-known Australian radio writer and actor, has got "right in among the money," as the sayin' is in U.S.A. After a single audition, the NationalBroadcasting Company at San Francisco immediately signed the young man up at £35 a week to write plays and to play lead in "Hawthorne House" a weekly serial which is expected to run for three years, over the air. |
