Title Documentary on animal cruelty
Abstract/Description This tape was unlabelled. Turns out to start with black and sounds of elephants and then a man in an elephant stall beating an elephant. There is no indication of who this is or - Ah! has title “The Ugliest Show on Earth” - followed by the beating of elephants and then tigers. It is filmed at least partly at a circus. Okay, it’s a documentary about UK circuses – people infiltrating circuses and filming treatment of animals. Film quality not brilliant. Unpleasant to watch. Issues: cruel treatment, traveling animals kept in small cages. Mary Chipperfield beating a camel. So far there is no attempt at discussion with a circus trainer, and then the horrible chimpazee squealing. This is very dark – so very hard to make out what is actually going on here. At end there are no credits? Puzzling and disturbing.
