Title "YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU." Independent Theatre Comedy.
Abstract/Description On Saturday evening, Mr. Richard White opened his Criterion Theatre at North Sydney. The playhouse is situated near Ridge Street adjoining Hoyt's picture theatre. In bygone days it was devoted to vaudeville. About six months ago, Mr. Scott Alexander discovered it, saw its possibilities, refurbished it a little, and transferred his Kursaal company of amateur players there from their former premises in Kent Street. But no sooner had production begun at North Sydney than Mr. Alexander died. Mr. White proposes to stage plays there each Wednesday aud Saturday. The Independent Theatre actors set things going on Saturday with "You Can't Take It With You."
