| Title |
Opening of 'Harlem Blackbirds' |
| Abstract/Description |
Was there anything at all sensational, exciting, peculiar or different about the "Harlem Blackbirds," who opened last night at the Palladium? Hardly anything, except the piano playing of Maurice Rocco. Standing (never sitting) at his instrument, he picked his way adroitly through various pieces of boogie-woogie and built up on each occasion to a fine frenzy of broken rhythms. |
