| Abstract/Description |
In fiction and in drama gentlemen (and others) have often enough staked a woman upon the throw of the dice, conjuring up thereby high romance or violent tragedy. In "Chance and Mrs. Buffington" Joan Brampton uses the old motif as starting-point for a comedy which runs in the direction of farce. |
