Formation of B.H. Repertory Society |
| Abstract/Description |
A special meeting called last night of people interested in the establishment of a repertory theatre movement resulted in the formation of the Broken Hill Repertory Theatre Society. The society has an initial membership of 70, and aims at an active membership of 100 together with a subscription membership of another 200. An enthusiastic gathering at the Palace Hotel Lounge was addressed by Mr V. Bindley, organiser of the Silver City Players' Club. Mr Bindley said that for some time he had been investigating the possibility of establishing a repertory movement which would give full expression to local dramatic talent. |
