| Description |
This play is a clever dramatization of a novel by Hugh Walpole. Three old womern living each in her own bed sitting room in a dilapidated house would not, one might imagine, give scope for dramatic episode. Yet the author has created three characters so inherently different and individual that the mere accident of their coming to live in the same house is sufficent to bring about situations of pathos, humour, intense drama, and ultimate tragedy. The author has drawn his story from his characters themselves. They do not fit into the story, they are the story. |
