Description Based on an autobiographical book by Helen Colijn. The story of how women prisoners-of-war in Japanese camps used music to sustain themselves and ultimately survive. On the 14th of August 1945 the world rejoiced as the end of hostilities was announced. Yet in a prison camp in Sumatra the internees continued their meagre existence unaware of these events. Unaware that the bombing raids that they had experienced in the days before Singapore's capitulation were mere drops in the ocean compared with the enormous weapon launched against the Japanese.
