This exercise in group nostalgia is perhaps best compared with a longer running audience participation cinema experience. Its rather like the late-night Friday Rocky Horror Picture Show for people who prefer camp nuns and stagy Nazis to camp transvestites and stagey sci-fi cliches ... Being surrounded by enthusiasm and heart-felt adulation gives an insight into the appeal of this venerable musical. |
