| Description |
Unlike traditional adaptations of The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, Gatz is staged around a verbatim reading of the entire book - word-for-word. A theatrical tour de force, Gatz is a 6-hour long performance with a cast of 13. Set in a crummy office, the story begins when an employee, Nick (Scott Shepherd) starts reading the book aloud at his desk... and can't stop. His colleagues hardly seem to notice at first. Then, with a bewildering chain of odd coincidences and visual puns, they are drawn into the world of Fitzgerald's novel. |
