| Description |
This second concert of the Canberra Philharmonic Society was the first radio broadcast made from Canberra by Farmer's 2 FC. There was an unbroken land line of over 200 miles from Causeway Hall to the Farmer's station in Sydney, and from there the concert was transmitted to a 400 foot high tower at Pennant Hills, from where it was broadcast further afield. Reports were received immediately, according to press reports, of perfect reception from New Zealand and Dubbo. |
