A Jewish family, Tevye the milkman and Golde and their five daughters live in the village of Anatevka in Tsarist Russia in 1905. Tevye is something of a phlosophr, and deals with the marraiges of his daughters and the increasing difficulty of life, which is about as stable as a fiddle on the roof. |
