Description Phone Me deals with the shifts in attitudes which have occurred as a result of the enormous economic and social changes which have occurred in New Zealand since 1984. The script plays with the idea of communication as it is mediated by technology, and shows how the different expectations of the characters (regardless of gender or culture) become subservient to the drive for survival under the juggernaut of capitalist ideology.
