| Description |
This play is based on
the journals of Lady
Ann Martin, the young wife of our first Chief Justice who arrived in New Zealand in 1841 and set up home in Auckland. Intrepid, intelligent and possessing a great sense of humour, she disregarded her personal disability and set about learning Maori. She established a make- shift hospital, tutored Maori school students and dared to dream of what was possible in this brave new world. |
