Mr Wildoats Heartycheer is to some extent in love with Miss Thistledown; and to bring him to his senses, the lady assumes the guise of Maggie McFarlane, the fishwife, while the father of Heartycheer and the flunky of the latter, masquerade as the father and mother of Maggie. |
