| Description |
A Kiss in the Dark kept the audience in a continual state of cachinnation. A middle aged gentleman, a member of the Stock Exchange, wishes to try the conduct of his young wife in his absence, towards her former sweetheart, and of course the plot succeeds, and he becomes perfectly satisfied of his own folly. |

Under the management of Mr R.H. Cox, formerly of Sadler's Wells Theatre London. This was a Select Comedy Night, the second of six evenings by the company in Nelson. Other pieces were Perfection or the Lady of Munster; and The Eton Boy, plus songs and dances. A Kiss in the Dark repeated, as part of a different bill, on 19th December.
