| Description |
The Macbeth of Mr. Dillon, on Saturday, was unquestionably the greatest the Auckland play-goers have had put before them, and the way it was got up by the management of the theatre will not soon be forgotten by those who were privileged to witness it. Whether in scenic arrangement or stage effect, the rendering was perfect, and would have done credit to the best English theatre. The scenic artists, Messrs. Monkhouse and Burbury, have had long experience, the former at the Manchester and the latter at the Sydney theatres, and it can only be mentioned in testimony of their ability. The corridor in the castle, moonlight on the vale of lona, and the castle itself.- were evidences of their skill in the painter's art. |
