Description Based on the true case history of a mentally and emotionally disturbed child, called Verity in the play, whose condition deteriorates progressively as she passed through one institution after another - educational, medical and punitive - until finally, at the age of 21, she is committed for life to Broadmoor. The play examines Verity's quest for her own identity as well as society's efforts to cope with her.
