Twelve…concerns a boy who is battling not with an addiction but a broken home. Twelve is a particularly interesting age to explore, says Sarkies, because kids are 'just learning about sex and alcohol and just going from hating girls to like them'. A 12-year-old (played by Neill Rea) performs a piece of stand-up comedy, while two people behind dance. 'I wanted to show the strength people that age have,' Sarkies says. 'When you're that age or under, you exist in your own dream world which makes you strong. When you're about 12 you realise other people can affect your life, and I think that makes you weaker.
