Description In 169 AD, Calvus and Verus arrive in China & are persuaded to row Princess Ts'ui and her slave Tu to Australia. Back in Rome, Emperor Marcus Aurelius is fighting a losing war against invading Northern tribes. This play wittily considers the complex issues of cultural interaction - between colonisers and colonised, strangers and hosts - the politics of nationalism, and the relationship between state and the individual.
