Description THIS PERFORMANCE DID NOT TAKE PLACE.
"In the forthcoming season the society will produce "The Ship of Heaven," by Hugh McCrae, with music by Alfred Hill." (Jan 1924)
"The peculiar nature of the piece," says Mr. Hill, "demands experienced singers, and at the same time a certain type of personality and dancing ability. Many people of promise were 'tried out,' and It was found that while a number had beautiful voices they had no stage experience and could not dance. Those who could act and dance could not sing. So rather than spoil the work we decided to wait till other artists should be available." (Jan 1925)
