Description |
"...because of the recent Australian credit squeeze which had hit Sydney businesses so that three theatres had closed in as many weeks, the management decided not to risk moving on to Sydney. With Happy in the lead, they felt they could take it over to New Zealand and do well, but as the sets were large and complicated, the touring costs would have been colossal, and the tour did not eventuate. The show folded after completing the Melbourne run only.” Beryl de Wiata (1976) ‘Inia Te Wiata Most Happy Fella’ . |
