A programme of Chinese vaudeville was presented before a large Chinese audience at St James’ Hall on Saturday evening. The local Yu Tan Hwa troupe performed the Cantonese play “Hen Hai Chien Sheng”, meaning “The Love Bird’s Wall Beside the Sea of Grief”. The Sun Chung Wah troupe performed acrobatics and magic. Proceeds were devoted to the Australian Chinese School Fund. |
