Join The Brown Council for Them Heavy People, a night of intimate storytelling and some delicious Burmese and Iraqi food. Them Heavy People is about sharing diaspora stories, it's about us, by us, for all. A night to connect, rejoice and lament at our complex brown/black/asian third culture lives. This edition explores those of us who are 'mixed-race'. The space in between, where you are neither this nor that, maybe a bit of everything, maybe something brand new. How is it like growing up 'mixed', stumbling into your identity and maintaining a sense of connection with your communities? |
