| Description |
The Sinfonietta celebrates another anniversary, that of Salzburg’s most famous son. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born 250 years ago, and the ensemble will perform two works dating from the 1770s–his brilliantly succinct Symphony No. 29 and the sublime Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola. Contrasting with this classical energy is the stark beauty of Meditations on Iona by acclaimed Scottish composer James MacMillan. |
