Description An affectionate account of a group of women players in Britain during the second World War, based on fact.
It is a salute to the real life Osiris Players which comprised seven women, led by Nancy Hewins, who, during the second World War, travelled thousands of miles presenting 1500 performances of a repertoire of 35 plays. The women have to play the male roles because most of the men have been called up for military service or are engaged in essential war time occupations.
