Description Finding dance the ideal medium to synthesise contemporary experience and traditional culture, these two companies use the vibrant, creative energies of dance to develop their own indigenous art forms. They come together in an exciting double-bill evening as part of the Te Toka-a-Toi programme.

Taiao's unique continuum dance theatre, provides a fresh look at the legend of Tane ascending the heavens to secure the baskets of knowledge; a journey of Tama travelling in the present and to the future, his pathway decided by nga tupuna (ancestors).
