This outstanding New Zealand dance company will present two works for the Festival, a far Cry, and Gloria. Originally choreographed for the Australian Dance Theatre, a far Cry has been reworked for the Festival performances. The piece was inspired by Picasso's Vollard suite (a series of etchings based on the legend of the Minotaur) and the nightmare, "the eventual conquest of the violent aspect of sex, the panic aroused by uncontrolled and uncontrollable desire." a far Cry is set to Bartok's Sonata No. 2 for violin and piano.
